its definitely a hard book to get through, I don't recommend if your expecting a happy ending or simple storytelling. This book is definitely bleak and stylized and you definitely have to have an open mind to stories discussing death, child neglect, and grief. Lots of discussion of t dead and injured of children i highly recommend if your looking for a tearjerker or depressing story. I read this when i was in a dark place and I somewhat related to Billie Jo and her blunt discussion of her struggle.

This was literally the most boring book I've ever read. I hate the structure and it is sad and extremely depressing. Nothing would be exponentially better than reading this book. I had to read in the 6th grade and I wouldn't have read it if I didn't have to.
