About the author

Karen Richardson was born in England and moved to Germany in her late 20s where she has been living and working in the English language teaching (ELT) industry ever since. For the past 20 -plus years, she has been teaching business English in companies, for local authorities, and at business colleges and universities in southern Germany.

She has written course books, teachers’ guides and a huge number of digital materials for large international publishers such as Macmillan Education, National Geographic Learning, and Pearson. She is the author of How to write worksheets, published by ELT Teacher to Writer. She currently writes for Business Spotlight and Spotlight, monthly magazines published by the newspaper group Die Zeit for German-speaking learners of business English and general English.

Karen holds the Trinity Diploma TESOL as well as various business English and intercultural trainer certificates and has been a long-term member of IATEFL’s Business English special interest group. She has organized conferences for business English, for ELT writers, and for English for specific purposes (ESP).
