Derrick Dunne is once again working with his British partner, Fiona, but their time together in Los Angeles doesn’t last long when another unusual death case turns up in London. The detectives find themselves back in the London WI-6 office assigned to a high-profile case that has attracted the interest of the top brass in the British government. The case involves an important member of the aristocracy which places a lot of pressure on Derrick and Fiona to solve the case quickly. But they soon find the case to be their most difficult yet. They’ve solved their fair share of unusual death cases, but one where the murder weapon is a stuffed swordfish truly has Derrick scratching his head. Not to mention the fact that the murder victim, Lord Trousdale, had his fair share of enemies including his own son—the Viscount.
As they dig deeper into the case, they find their list of suspects turns international. Fiona soon realizes her talents as a shifter are going to be vital to solving the case, especially when they find a clue that indicates a paranormal creature may have aided the murderer.
With a tight deadline and a list of suspects that keeps growing, will Derrick and Fiona finally become more than working partners, but romantic ones as well?
