The following books show a day in the life of Daisy and her handler which can sometimes be quite funny. With few exceptions, all events really happened.
The book series shows the good and the challenging parts of being a service dog as narrated by Daisy herself. Most times, Daisy is good at following commands, but sometimes she has a bad day and forgets. The series walks you through a service dog’s various jobs, how they should behave in public, and how they and their handlers should be treated.
Additionally, besides being educational, the series helps to contribute to the atmosphere of inclusiveness and understanding of those with disabilities.
Karli White is a former teacher who loves children’s books not only for reading to her students but also for the simple life lessons that we as adults can relearn as well.
She is a native New Yorker (upstate), who lived most of her life in the Washington DC suburbs after graduating from Liberty University in 1997. She returned to New York in 2019 and currently resides in Waterford.
Daisy the Service Dog series was born out of much encouragement from her mother. She decided to write about what she knew best, her service dog. Daisy has been Karli’s service dog for 4 years. Many of the adventures in the series have actually happened.
