I loved the characters and stories. it had so many twists and turns. Her loyalty to friends and family is awesome. And Detective Phillips is one I loved to hate and unfortunately in many instances very true to form. once he figured out he was close to being wrong could not back down or admit wrongdoing.

Boring. Unlikable relationship Kate, Bob, Liz. I red some 200 pages than I was fed up and red the two last chapters. For me, this book has at least 250 pages too much. The whole story could have been written in 100 pages.

It was good but it feels like Kate is the wife, not Liz. That really turned me off. Kate is much more closer to Rob than his wife Liz. I doubt that such a situation would exist in reality. And the writing is a little bit off, I can't put my finger on it but something is off about the grammar and the phrasing and the general order of events. It's like the author wanted to reduce the number of pages so she cut some words out. Or maybe she wanted to finish faster because in the beginning it shows that the book was written patiently but as we get to the middle and the end of the book it's like the story was rushed. But I liked the plot though. I wish Eddie could have lived. I would have loved to see how he reacts to Kate and Rob's friendship.

About the author

In her youth, Kassandra Lamb had to decide between her two greatest passions, writing and psychology. Being partial to food, heat and electricity, she opted to study psychology. Now that she's retired from her career as a psychotherapist, she can focus on creating an alternate universe in which her protagonist, Kate Huntington, is always the kind, generous and insightful person that Kassandra wishes she was herself.

She has recently launched a new series, the Marcia Banks and Buddy cozy mysteries, in which Marcia (pronounced Mar-see-a, not Marsha) trains service dogs for combat veterans and solves mysteries in her spare time, with the assistance of her black Lab sidekick, Buddy.

When Kassandra's not at her computer, transported in mind and spirit into the world of her characters, she physically lives in Florida, with her husband and her dog.

Kassandra was born in Baltimore and lived in Maryland for the first 50 years of her life. Like Kate Huntington, she was a specialist in trauma recovery for two decades. She also taught psychology at Towson University.
