About this ebook

Not all broken hearts are beyond repair.

Davis Jones finds the world to be chaotic and overwhelming, especially since his fiancé died. But as the owner of a small-town hardware store, he enjoys fixing what is damaged--his life excluded. Attempting to escape his demons, he visits his family where they are volunteering in Thailand. All he wants is to help others in relative peace and quiet. But the beautiful and gregarious service director has other plans.

Chloe Rodgers has lived in Thailand for the past fifteen years. As the director of a service organization, she spends her time in remote villages, rebuilding when disaster strikes. But when an attractive volunteer arrives, she’s torn between her philanthropic lifestyle and considering the possibility of building a life of her own.

Davis and Chloe have spent so much time fixing other people’s problems, that it will take a miracle repairing themselves enough to find the love they deserve.

This wasn't your typical vacation romance hanging out on a beach or visiting all the tourist places. Davis was put to work as soon as he recovered from motion sickness with his parents, brothers, Chloe, Travis and the rest of the volunteers helping rebuilt a village in Thailand. I would enjoy helping with something like that, but I wouldn't enjoy sleeping in a tent off the grid without access to regular showers very long. I wonder if Davis is on the spectrum as he's highly intelligent, thoroughly researching hut building before he visited and he has sensory issues. Chloe was a bit prideful to tell him to stop in the middle of his work and not let him fix things that weren't done right. She is the founder and director, but she should be open to input especially if it makes their jobs easier and the work more effective. I loved that the book took me on an adventure off the beaten paths of Thailand with the elephant sanctuary and the children dosing them with water and baby power in celebration.

This is book four in The Starlight Ridge series and it is Davis and Chloe's story. Davis is the owner of a hardware store in a small town and he likes peace and quiet ever since his fiance died but while visiting his family who are volunteering in Thailand and that is where he meets Chloe who is a service director. Chloe lives in Thailand and as a service director she helps rebuild and helps people in remote villages only she is not expecting her reaction to Davis one of the volunteers. As Davis and Chloe have a strong connection and as they get closer decisions will need to be made but will they be the right ones or will they miss out on there own chance of happiness. I really enjoyed reading this book with all the ups and downs of life that Davis and Chloe go through and I couldn't put this book as I had to see what would happen next and it really kept my attention and I look forward to reading more books by Kat Bellemore who is a brilliant author and writer and I definitely recommend you read this book, series and other books by her and you will definitely not be disappointed as her books are real page turner's and you definitely wouldn't want to miss out reading her books. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

I loved Building on Love! What a great premise - because Davis has some sensory issues, he's considered different in his hometown, Starlight Ridge, where everyone has known him since he was born. But, they don't really know him. It takes going around the world and meeting Chloe for someone to truly get him, and for him to believe that he's worthy of her love. It was fun to see Davis shine. He's been in the background of the other books in this series. I actually thought he was an old man in the first few books. I loved getting his backstory, how he interacted with his family (and how they got him), and how he truly loves and serves people because that's who he is. I truly loved getting to know Thailand and Chloe and her organization and how it works. I also loved how the family comes together to create giving on such a sustainable scale.

About the author

Kat Bellemore is the author of the Borrowing Amor small town romance series. Deciding to have New Mexico as the setting for the series was an easy choice, considering its amazing sunsets, blue skies and tasty green chile. That, and she currently lives there with her husband and two cute kids. They hope to one day add a dog to the family, but for now, the native animals of the desert will have to do. Though, Kat wouldn't mind ridding the world of scorpions and centipedes. They're just mean.
