This is the second book in this series but it is not necessary to read the previous one. It is probably helpful to have read some of the other series involving Detyan warriors but again, not necessary to enjoy the story. What makes this story good for me is Tyral’s respect for Dorsey’s experience and skills. Usually the alpha male just can’t let the woman do her thing. The story itself is different enough from the author’s other books that it is not boring. The sex is hot and doesn’t overtake the story. Another hit by Kate Rudolph. I received a free copy of this book and I am voluntarily leaving my honest review.

This was a enjoyable book in this series. I have been enjoying all the books in this series. It could probably be read as a standalone, I've read others in the series but in the wrong order. Reading others would help with background information, but I found most of what you needed was explained in this book anyway. It was well written with a great action packed adventure storyline, and great characters. It was a decent length as well which really gave time for a storyline which was well developed.

Just when he thought his life is about to end, he was given a sliver of hope when he meet his mate. But even that hope is not without its danger. It is possible both him and his mate would not make it. As it is, the best case scenario seem to only meet the survival of his mate. Yet miracles are known to happen.
