In the meantime, though, he'll be glad to help Jules with her plan. Okay, I'm not going to lie. If you tell me that the heroine of a book owns a cat café, namely Cups and Kittens, I'm already all in. Add in a tall, dark, sexier-than-sin cowboy, one that's damaged but not beyond redemption, and I'm a goner. Happily, FOOLPROOF LOVE by Katee Robert, has all of this and more, making it one of my favorite reads lately. Katee has the gift of writing books peopled with quirky complex characters, and storylines that grab you from the first words and wrap you up completely. I didn't know much about FOOLPROOF LOVE before I started it, but knowing that Katee had written it, there was no question that I had to read it. I loved every single character in this book. Jules spent high school known as one half of the 'golden couple,' until Grant left Devil's Falls for greener pastures. Since then, she's done her best to move on, and she has done, for the most part. Her love of her hometown is evident in all that she does, and she is not about to have Grant, or anyone else, determine how people see her, or how she feels about herself. Adam Meyer is definitely not a 'what you see is what you get' kind of guy. Shaped by his father's desertion, he couldn't wait to leave Devil's Falls behind, refusing to be tied down to any place or anyone. But one person that Adam would do anything for is his mother, and finding out that she's sick has brought him back to the place that he just can't bear to stay. The chemistry between Jules and Adam is H.O.T., oh, my gosh, it's crazy combustible, like, whoa, as Jules would say. The two agree to be 'fake' boyfriend and girlfriend, in order to kick up Jules' scandal factor a few notches, but, well, we know how these things go. It isn't long at all, oh, maybe one hot minute, before the 'fake' part evolves into something very real and not at all what either of them was expecting. I can't say enough how much I enjoyed FOOLPROOF LOVE. Besides two main characters that I love, Katee has populated Devil's Falls with a whole host of other folks that I can't wait to read about. Aubry, Quinn, Daniel, all of them have a story of their own, and I can't wait to have them in my hot little book-loving hands. I highly recommend this book (can you tell?!), and suggest you pop it right up to the top of your TBR. Happy reading!

Foolproof Love is the first book in Katee Robert’s new series, Foolproof. I adore Katee Robert’s books, they are always so addictive and this book will get you from this first page. We have our quirky, fun and loveable heroine, a sexy alpha rodeo cowboy and an ex-boyfriend who thinks he has what all the girls want. Perfect combination for a hilarious and swoon worthy good time. Jules Rodriguez has always been a little quirky and the town “good girl”. For the most part she is okay with being labeled as such but the day her ex-boyfriend comes back to town all that changes. He thinks they can pick up where they left off before he broke her heart and dumped her before heading off to college. Now as a successful business owner of a cat café and coffee shop, Jules knows she no longer needs a man like him in her life. However her ex is relentless and thinks Jules is playing hard to get so when they bump into each other at a party she decides to tell him she has a boyfriend, only she doesn’t. In comes Adam Meyer, her cousin’s insanely hot friend and rodeo champion, who just happens to be in town for a short while visiting his sick mother. When Jules ask for help to throw off her ex Adam doesn’t know what to think but after one scorching hot kiss he is more than willing to help Jules with her plan. Adam Meyer left his hometown in the rear view mirror after high school and a deadly crash killed one of his friends. Now he has come back home for temporarily to help is ailing mother but will leave again just as soon as she is better. When Jules asks him to play along and pretend to be her boyfriend he is a little shocked but can’t resist giving the beautiful woman in front of him a little kiss to help her out. Who knew that one kiss would change his whole life. Adam and Jules were so hot together and I love how she was able to break down his walls and help him heal from the tragic car wreck that changed his life. 4.5 Stars I really enjoyed this one. The characters are a hoot and a half. What a combination of humor and heat. I have serious envy for the cafe Jules owns. Tea and Kittens, what could better then owning a cafe with cats who can sit on the customers' laps? Like I said serious envy! Adam is swoon worthy material. That poor guy has so much he is shouldering, but won't confide in anyone he needs a distraction while he's back and Jules presents him with the perfect one. Jules needs to show her ex and town she has moved on and not boring, in comes Adam. What harm can a pretend relationship cause? What happens when things become to feel all too real? I loved the chemistry between Adam and Jules. They can burn it up, but they're compatible outside the bedroom as well. I really liked Jules and watching her gain so much confidence is amazing. The are secondary charterers in this one that just adds to the book. Can't wait to see if they get their stories told. A great kick off to this series because this one has left me wanting more.
