Delilah and Jock’s story Texan for the Taking by Katherine Gabera, book three in Corbyn Sisters of Last Stand series, was a wonderful, sexy, emotional and enjoyable tale. Delilah Corbyn, the youngest of the sisters, was a classically-trained chef who left the cutthroat celebrity kitchen to return home to Last Stand, Texas. Opening her own restaurant allowed her to make decisions about the food, menu, and atmosphere, without having to answer to the media. She is finally living her dream until the new “it” chef comes to town, opening a restaurant and offering her a challenge. Delilah knows she can handle the heat in the kitchen, but he seems to stir up passions she thought were long buried. Jock Rossi has come a long way in the culinary world, especially for someone who wasn’t formally trained. Now he’s a rising chef with fame, and money within his reach. Hoping to attract investors, he launches his latest restaurant in Last Stand. Yet, when he meets his local competition, Jock’s plans end up off course. Delilah is not only talented, but she’s beautiful and impossible to fool; or forget. With a magnetic attraction, Jock and Delilah are unable to stay away from each other; sharing secret recipes, cooking for each, and heating up the kitchen. Delilah will need to decide if she is strong enough to not lose herself in Jock’s recipes and world or will her love for him win out; without getting burned like with her last boyfriend. Ms. Gabera wrote a wonderful and emotional story that is definitely not to be missed. She provided a tale rich with off the charts, sizzling chemistry, fun adventures, and charming characters giving Delilah and Jock a chance to discover they were meant to be together. I highly recommend Texan for the Taking to other readers. I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book

Food is not the only thing sizzling in the kitchen! Delilah, has returned to Last Stand to open her own restaurant and not be under the scrutiny of the media. She is loving this until, the new chef, "it" arrives in town to open his restaurant. Jock has made it big in the culinary world, but now with his new challenge, Delilah things might change in their world. Loved the hot chemistry that these two shared with their love of cooking and adventures. Plenty of family drama and did I mention food and romance. The perfect blend of spice to make this wonderful read. This is part of a series but can be read as a stand alone.

This was a great story. I loved Delilah and Jock. They were wonderful characters who were very easy to like. I was rooting for these two from the very beginning. Jock is a TV chef who is opening a new restaurant in Last Stand, TX. Delilah already owned a restaurant there and had bad experiences in the past with TV chefs. But the two certainly had chemistry. I appreciated how much respect there was between the two characters. Even though their restaurants would be “competition” for each other, there was an atmosphere of teamwork between the two. Although Jock did have an ulterior motive as well. Overall this was a great story…that made me very hungry at times.
