Retribution

the reader can't help but get caught up all the passion that burns between and not just in their dreams which of course leads to some hot and steamy sex but the relationship is has a few flaws - no one's telling the whole truth and lives are at stake. These strong compelling characters seduce readers right into their story and are easily related to while the fast paced and smooth flowing plot keeps anticipations high with lots of suspense, action and romance. Tension and excitement builds throughout the story as Nika and her sister set out on a deadly quest for vengeance against a ruthlessly evil man but they are not the only ones seeking revenge which puts their plans in jeopardy. Unexpected twists and betrayals keep all the characters and the readers on their toes as the story is brought to life with well written scenes and details that capture the imagination while the well planned events not only ensure that there is never a dull moment but that the reader can't put the book down once they start reading it. Psychic abilities add just a touch of the mystical to adding spice to the story while adding quite a bit of sizzling heat to the romance between Nika and Declan.

Katie Reus – Retribution – (Retribution Series – Book 1) I enjoy all of Ms. Reus's books and this one is no exception. Even though this appears to be a standalone, I am not sure that is the case. There are so many characters that could have their own story. Hmmmm? Declan Gallagher is an X-CIA and Black Ops and now has his own Security Company in Miami (wonder if he is in competition with Redstone)? Declan is a Dream Walker and a few people in the former CIA team knows of his abilities, such as his former team member, Vernon Nash (now the Deputy Director of FBI Counter Terrorism). Vernon also saved Declan’s life in a Black Ops CIA mission and now wants to call in his chit. AND Off the Books, since he believes there is a mole. Declan’s assignment is to watch two sisters, Nika & Alena Brennan that seem to be going after 4 Russian Mobsters that killed their mother and father. Alena is the oldest and she saw the carnage that the monsters left of their bodies. Alena was out for Retribution. Three have of these deviants have all died under mysterious circumstances, and in each city that the incidents took place, the two sisters had been in those cities. Little did Vernon or Declan know that Alena intended to get to Yasha through his son Andre Makarov? Alena assumed that Andre was just like his father, so using him was a means to the goal. What Alena did not know is that Andre was NOT like his father and has never had anything to do with Yasha. Vernon’s interests in keeping Yasha Makarov, who now lives in Miami, alive is because he needed to find out where the “Virgin Girls” were located before Yasha sold them to the highest bidder. If the sisters killed Yasha before he found out, the young women’s horrible fate would be sealed. Declan was alone with his thoughts and the file about the sisters. He was drawn to Nika photo for some reason. Declan began a Dream Walk with Nika and there was some serious hot romance going on. Nika was a Psychic, however, and she knew how to keep anyone from her inner thoughts. After many attempts, Declan was unable to get any information about their plot, and forced himself to not Dream Walk again with Nika because he was drawn to her. Alena was successful in getting Andre to notice her and in fact they both were drawn to each other. Alena told herself that the means did justify the goal. Now Andre and the sisters were flying into Miami and Declan Security Company was hired to keep them all safe. As Alena and Andre were riding in his limo, he had an emergency and had to get out and go to another location. Soon after, the car was run off the road and Alena was kidnapped for a ransom. This new book is in typical Ms. Reus's style: fast paced to the point you need to hang onto your seat, with twists and turns you did not see coming and of course HOT HOT Passion. You will not regret purchasing this book!?

The minute I started reading I couldn't stop.. I have read a romantic book in a while..loved it.
