About this ebook

An SCU team investigates a string of accidents, only to uncover a deadly and deliberate monster in the latest novel from New York Times bestselling author Kay Hooper.

In Clarity, North Carolina, the residents have fallen victim to an unfortunate series of events. Seemingly random accidents have taken the lives of several citizens in the small mountain town. But these deadly coincidences are anything but. Something is on the hunt in Clarity, and the only clue as to what is a cryptic note given to the victims 24 hours before they meet their ends: “Wait for dark.”

Sheriff Mal Gordon knows how to handle his town, but he has no idea how to handle this. Hollis Templeton and her team from the Special Crimes Unit, including her partner and lover, telepath Reese DeMarco, are called in to investigate.

But while the SCU has prepared them for the unknown, the incredible evil stalking Clarity shakes the team to its core when one of their own is targeted. Now Hollis, the “cat with nine lives” finds herself facing death again.

And this time, not even her partner can protect her...

This review was written by Marie for a guest review post on Ever After Book Reviews blog: 3.5 Stars I am a big fan of this series. I always have been. And with each book, I’ve kept up the hope that it will continue to be just as good as the first time I picked it up. Sadly, for me, that hope is quickly dwindling. Now, don’t get me wrong. Ms. Hooper is a fantastic storyteller. She knows how to take an idea and run with it. And while she does that in Wait For Dark, she also adds what I like to call, too much filler. The incessantly unneeded conversation that rehashes theory after theory of what could/could not be happening and why. I mean, I love suspense novels just as much (if not more) than the next person, so I understand that conversation is necessary. But when it gets to the point that I’m skipping over a lot of it because it’s redundant… that’s a problem for me. One of the things that I truly enjoyed in this book, however, was Hollis. She always has been a favorite of mine, so to see her character develop further and be given the spotlight made my day! She was the bright light of this book, and honestly is what saved it for me. All of that being said, it’s still a pretty solid plot. It’s still full of characters that we’ve all come to know and love. So, naturally, I did finish the book and I did enjoy it. I just think that maybe, if there’s more books to come, Ms. Hooper should fill the story with more plot/development, and less repetitive conversation. ***I voluntarily read a copy of the book in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts and feelings are my own***

Kay hooper really knows how to grip the reader into the story.. I have loved all her books with the SCU.. The characters feel real and you connect with them... I have even cried with them... Hollis Templeton is one of my favorite characters in this series... This book was the same as the others before it... Amazing, gripping and thrilling... You will love reading all of them..
