About this ebook

Sometimes bad choices can come back to haunt you… Showing up on her sister's doorstep years after stealing her boyfriend might not have been the smartest thing to do. Sick, broke, running on an empty tank and a string of bad choices, Megan Rose is looking for redemption. But her sister isn't ready to forgive, much less trust her.

Home from a medical mission gone wrong, Doctor Ethan Tulane is alive because his translator sacrificed his life, leaving behind an orphaned child. Ethan has adopted the boy even though he can barely communicate with him and now needs help.

His brother’s troubled sister-in-law is not exactly the help he had in mind, but she has nowhere else to go and he can’t turn her away. Now he’s seeing unexpected depths and goodness but can he trust her when his son’s heart is also on the line?

My first read by this author. I struggled to get into it. I can understand differences between siblings. However, turning sick ones away gives a very bad i oression of the tyoe of person yiu are. that's at the start of the book. Ethan has issues; house cleaning at 3 a.m.; working late; unable to tell he is serving burnt food insisting his son eat it. He and Jenn (his sister in-law) are in professions where they deal with people. Neither seem prone to tolerance and understanding. Megan is ill, on the run from an abusive relationship and an ex-husband who threatened her before going to prison. She has many a nightmare and can speak French fluently which allows her to connect with Simon, as well as, have an inkling as to what he is feeling. She does well as Simon's nanny. It's a rather bland story and the characters are a little insipid. I am really surprised that Ethan and Megan really connected physically and emotionally enough to fall in love to have their happy ever after.

A remarkable story of compassionate affection among family members, even though it required a lot of strength, patience, and time from those who had to deal with the consequences!

Kay Lyons always wanted to be a writer, ever since the age of seven or eight when she copied the pictures out of a Charlie Brown book and rewrote the story because she didn’t like the plot. Through the years her stories have changed but one characteristic stayed true— they were all romances. Each and every one of her manuscripts included a love story.

Published in 2005 with Harlequin Enterprises, Kay’s first release was a national bestseller. Kay has also been a HOLT Medallion, Book Buyers Best and RITA Award nominee. Look for her most recent novels with Kindred Spirits Publishing.
