About this ebook

Kelley Armstrong's New York Times bestselling Darkest Powers trilogy is collected here for the first time!

The Summoning: Chloe is locked up in Lyle House, a "special home" for troubled teens. Yet the home isn't what it seems. There is definitely more to Chloe's housemates than meets the eye. The question is, whose side are they on? It's up to her to figure out the dangerous secrets behind Lyle House . . . before its skeletons come back to haunt her.

The Awakening: Chloe Saunders is a living science experiment--not only can she see ghosts, but she was genetically altered by a sinister organization called the Edison Group. She's a teenage necromancer whose powers are out of control, which means she can raise the dead without even trying. Now Chloe's running for her life with three of her supernatural friends--a charming sorcerer, a cynical werewolf, and a disgruntled witch--and they have to find someone who can help them before the Edison Group catches them.

The Reckoning: Chloe Saunders's life is not what you would call normal. First of all, she can't figure out how she feels about a certain antisocial werewolf or his charming brother--who just happens to be a sorcerer. Then there's the fact that she's running for her life from an evil corporation that's trying to kill her and her supernatural friends. And finally, she's a genetically altered necromancer who can raise the dead, rotting corpses and all, without even trying. But Chloe has a plan. And the end is very near.

THERE ARE NO SPOILERS IN THIS REVIEW I absolutely LOVE this series but am heartbroken that the entire second book in the trilogy was missing all quotations surrounding character speech! If this wasn't the case, I would rate 5 stars! THE BOOKS: This series offers adventure, romance, tons of action, and so much more! The first book starts out with a faster pace with quick buildups and events which is a style I myself enjoy immensely! Although during the middle does feel a bit slow, the end finishes with a very intense change. The second book really focused on the story, of how each character felt and how they react to different experiences and challenges. This book I found was the most emotionally raw and revealing! The third book was my personal favorite due to character evolution and how immersive the plot became! In the end all books are written beautifully, the reader is fully immersed with connections to the characters and is the type of book I wish could go on forever!

I enjoyed the books, as I enjoy all of your books. I gave only three stars though because of punctuation, it makes it difficult to really get into the story. In the second book there are no quotation marks surrounding the speaking parts and in many places through each paragraph words will be pushed together instead of separate. In all the books some conjunctions are missing the apostrophe so for example the word we'll is always spelled well. If there is any way for your editor to go back and fix it it would make it an easier read, but as it stands it throws-off the flow and pulls the reader out.
