About this ebook

What happens under the mistletoe stays under the mistletoe…

Amy’s life isn’t living up to the famous Heller family brand—her love life and her career—and she just wants to be alone for Christmas. So she takes off to a friend’s secluded mountain cabin. Ho fu*king ho.

Ryder’s workaholic tendencies have made him super successful in his business, but he hasn’t spent time with family for years. That’s all he wants this Christmas, plus a little down time at a cabin in the mountains. He loves Christmas and can’t wait for the family ugly sweater contest!

When Ryder walks in on Amy at an “awkward” moment, she can’t believe the man she’s hated since she was sixteen has shown up here. He has to leave. But Mother Nature has other ideas when a blizzard shuts down the entire region...

Amy thinks a good place for Ryder’s Christmas cheer is up his ass. Ryder thinks Amy’s grown up into a smokin’ hot babe. Christmas is all about giving, and he’s got a really big package for Amy. Maybe naughty is the new nice...

The story centers around Amy Heller and Ryder Long. Amy has had an awful day. The guy that she was take home for Christmas is not whom she thought he was, and the potential job offer might be taken from her as well. When a friend offers a cabin in the woods , Amy can’t get there soon enough. She is not planning to celebrate another disastrous Christmas and just wants to be left alone. Ryder, a successful businessman and a workaholic, is ready to finally spend the holidays with his family, and taking a break in a cabin for a few days prior to his visit, is just what he needs. He can’t wait to spend the holidays with his family since it’s his favorite time of the year. Imagine their surprise when their friends accidentally double booked the cabin. Especially since they met in their youth and their parting at the time left them both embarassed. LIttle did they realize that their time together in the cabin in the middle of a snowstorm would change their lives. Since I have not read any of the Heller brother stories I was concerned it would be an issue, but truthfully, it wasn’t. The brothers were only mentioned in passing. In general, it was an entertaining story, perfect for an afternoon of leisure. I was entrusted a copy of this book. The opinions expressed are solely my own.

Kelly Jamieson lights the lamp (and the Christmas tree) with HATE ME UNDER THE MISTLETOE (Romancing the Rink #1/ Heller Brothers #6). Amy Heller feels like she is not living up to her families’ standards and decides she doesn’t want to face her successful family over the holidays. She opts to spend the holidays alone at a friend's secluded mountain cabin. Unfortunately, it was also unknowingly loaned out to Ryder Long, who she cannot stand. Amy comes from hockey royalty. She is having a tough time. She just discovered her boyfriend was cheating on her and going after the same dream job with the Vancouver Vipers NHL team. Plus, the women’s hockey league she played in folded the year before. Ryder is a good guy. He is a workaholic. He started Green Earth Consulting a few years prior. He billeted with the Heller’s for two years when he played major junior hockey in Winnipeg. The two get snowed in at the cabin. They had some misunderstandings, which are revealed in this story. Ryder loves Christmas. He helps Amy heal and get into the Christmas spirit. HATE ME UNDER THE MISTLETOE is a heartwarming story that is full of Christmas cheer. I do recommend reading YOU HAD ME AT HOCKEY (Bears Hockey, #2). This is Amy’s brother’s Josh’s story. Events from that book are referenced in this book a few times. You could follow the story without it, but it is an excellent book and worth the read. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.

If you love hockey romances and the magic of the holiday season look no further than Hate Me Under the Mistletoe. I picked this book up and there was no putting down until I had read the final word, I was captivated and engrossed in Amy Heller and Ryder Long’s story and honestly I really didn’t want this book to end. Amy’s life is being turned upside down she has lost her job in woman’s professional hockey due to the league folding and then she finds out her boyfriend who was meant to spending Christmas with her family was cheating on her. She decides to miss Christmas completely and head to a friends cabin in the mountains, she intended to veg out alone but just when she thought things couldn’t get any worse another person turns up at the cabin. Ryder is on his way to spend Christmas with his family but some chilling out is needed first and he stops off at a friends cabin in the mountains, what he didn’t expect was to have company and when a snowstorm traps them, things start to get heated and real interesting. This couple have history, he lived with her family for a while back in his youth hockey playing days but he has no idea what he did to make Any so angry towards him……. Christmas is a magical of year so has fate put these two together for a reason, will Christmas work it’s magic and will this couple get a second chance. Guess you need to read this book to find that out.
