About this ebook

This Little Black Book is your companion for Lent. It’s an old-fashioned “vade mecum” (pronounced vahday maykum). That’s Latin for “travel with me” and was used to describe a book that was a constant companion – perhaps a condensed book of prayers for traveling priests, or a handbook for quick reference – something you could take with you anywhere.

I have been reading these wonderful Little Books since they were first distributed, in the church, in 2000. They are a wonderful way to lift your spirits and beliefs in our Lord. I look forward to reading the Little Blue Books at Christmas and the Little Black Books during Lent. I am grateful to have them and highly recommend all to read them, each day, for 6 minutes. You will feel spiritually refreshed.
