About the author

Khien Theeravit, Ph.D. in Political Sciences from the University of Washington, is Associate Professor of East Asian Affairs at Chulalongkorn University, Thailand. Dr. Khien was a Visiting Fellow at the Australian National University (1976-77) and the Institute of Southeast Asian Studies, Singapore (1977-78).
