À propos de cet e-book

This is a new translation into modern American English directly from the original Russian manuscript of Tolstoy's novella Kholstomer, also sometimes translated "Holstomer" or "Strider".. This edition contains an Afterword by the translator, a timeline of Tolstoy's life and works, and a glossary of philosophic terminology used throughout Tolstoy's literature and philosophy. "Kholstomer" by Leo Tolstoy is a powerful and allegorical short story that personifies a horse named Kholstomer , gifted with intelligence and the ability to communicate with humans. As Kholstomer interacts with different owners, he becomes an astute observer of human nature, exposing their flaws, vices, and follies. Through the lens of a perceptive horse, Tolstoy offers profound insights into the human condition, critiquing society's moral decay and the dehumanizing effects of pride and greed. "Kholstomer" exemplifies Tolstoy's literary and philosophical prowess, highlighting his mastery in creating multi-dimensional characters and exploring complex moral dilemmas.
