This book provides concepts and daily routines to help players gain facility on their instrument by improving technique and avoiding injury. The exercises can be used as a warm-up or as full-speed technical studies. The exercises focus on developing balance between the limbs and improving synchronicity between the hands and feet while stressing the importance of counting. It is useful for musicians of any level. The exercises are presented in a simplified, easily accessible notation rather than standard notation. This book will work for any size drum set including a double bass drum set.

Acerca do autor

Michael is an in-demand performer and educator. Notable acts include:

The Justin Kalk Orchestra, Ricky Van Shelton, Vassar Clements, Bonnie

Bramlett, David “Fathead” Newman, the Nashville Jazz Orchestra,

Greenland and many more. Michael Green received his Bachelors

in Music from Belmont University in Nashville, TN where he studied

with world renowned drummer, Chester Thompson. Michael was

then awarded a fellowship to study with world famous jazz drummer,

Danny Gottlieb, at the University of South Florida where he received

a Masters in Music with an emphasis in Jazz Performance. Following

grad school, Michael and Danny co-authored their fi rst book with Mel

Bay, The Drummer’s Workbook for Control and Creativity. Michael is

the editor of Mel Bay’s Percussion Sessions®, a webzine devoted to

percussion education.
