About this ebook

The Bourne Identity meets Minority Report in this “truly wild ride” (RT Book Reviews) set in a futuristic Detroit—the first in #1 New York Times bestselling author Kim Harrison’s Peri Reed Chronicles.

Peri Reed is a Drafter—a special ops agent with the unique ability to jump back forty seconds in time when missions go wrong. But this skill allows her partner, who is responsible for replacing her memory of events, to feed her false memories and set her up as a corrupt agent.

Working with Silas, a broody, intriguing psychologist trying to bring Opti corruption to light, Peri begins to piece her twisted reality together as she flees the organization she once trusted implicitly.

Peri is caught: rebuilding the memory of the night she killed her partner risks her sanity and in trying to put an end to Opti, she is only getting closer to the very faction that wants to see her dead. Can she get her revenge, or will her tenuous grip on reality leave her vulnerable all over again?

First off for anyone whi is a fan of Ms Harrison's books before you start this you should know it is more of a Sci-fi book not paranormal romance. I loved the Hallows books by Ms Harrison. And miss the series. So I of course really wanted to love Peri. But I don't not only not love it but I can't even say that I like the book. I bought this book and Sideswiped at the same time. I've read both so I've given the series a good chance but I wont be reading any more. And here is why .... The over all story is boring ! The characters are annoying, shallow and rather lame. I couldn't find a single one that I liked or even remotely cared to know what happens to them. What was really annoying was the never ending repeating of how everyone is in awe of and desires Glass technology because it's the 'it' thing yet at the same time it's repeated over and over that it doesn't work all that well. So basically everyone wants to be rich enough or important enough to be able to own a fancy looking piece of junk. Yeah that doesn't make these people sound stupid at all. Another thing that annoyed me was how Silas looked down on here for wanting the finer things in life yet he goes around in expensive clothes and Glass technology items. Can anyone say hypocrite? What was the most annoying part of the story was the time crap. If she was with Frank for 3 years and she forgets those 3 years, then how is it she doesn't know Silas? Or anything about how close they were? In short this series is just not for me. I don't like ANYTHING about it. Sad L

I loved the was that the book was action packed and that it was packed with suspense each page that I turned and how I could not put the book down even when I was in school and had to pay attention to my teacher talking.
