About this eBook

It seems that wedding fever has hit the little town of Marietta...
And that suits single mom, Magdalena Davis, just fine. It means the local gossips will stop hounding her about returning to town and the secret she’s kept for fifteen years. Home to make peace with her sick mother, the last thing Mags wants is to get involved in Marietta’s big celebrity wedding. But when her teenage daughter cajoles her into auditioning to sing with a local heartthrob, all her plans for flying under the radar zoom out of the window.

Country music singer, Jake Kohl, has lost his muse. He’s jaded from years of life in the fast lane and wants to settle in Marietta and lead a normal life. He reluctantly agrees to sing at the celebrity wedding, but what he doesn't expect is his co-singer to reignite his passion. But it’s not just the music she awakes in him. Magdalena makes Jake feel and want things he hasn’t for far too long, but there’s more to her than meets the eye.

Can Jake solve the mystery that is Magdalena and win her heart?

I took a trip last night to Montana... Marietta, Montana my favorite fictional hometown. Seems the town has been hit with the wedding bug and yes this book has that and more. Mags or Magdalena Davis has come by home to Marietta after being gone for 15 years. She comes comes home because her mom is sick, cancer and brings her teenager daughter with her. Her daughter is getting to know her know her grandparents for the first time in her life. So many secrets to uncover in this book. One thing I loved is the closeness between Mags and her daughter Bella. Tighter than most and the love is so strong. Bella is the one who pushes her mom to try out or audition for the wedding singer part that Jake Kohl is looking for. Has to be a member of the town of Marietta. Boy was he blown away by what he hears. This is one of those books that had me in tears in parts and laughing in others. And I might have shouted out YES a time or two as well. Yes, There are a few minor editing errors but for me they did not take away from the spirit of the story at all.

Kiss the Bride was just okay. There really wasn't much of a story line to grab hold of. Usually there is more drama, suspense or romance than was in this book. A contest was held to see who would sing with the town's now famous singer and Mags won. She and Jake immediately liked each other, told each other their secrets and made love. Bella, the daughter, looking for her father, lied to her mother, was in an accident with a young man who also had family issues. After the close call with Bella and the accident, Mags almost blows her relationship with Jake. However, a happy ending occurs.

"Kiss the Bride" by Rachael Johns is book five in the "Montana Born Brides" series. This can be read as a standalone. If you read them all, you will get to know more about all the characters. This is Magdalena Davis and country music singer, Jake Kohl's story. Magdalena left fifteen years ago when she was seventeen and pregnant. So for now, she is back in Marietta with her teenage daughter dealing with her mother's battle with cancer. Also, she wants to repair the relationship with her parents. Jake always writes his own songs, but lately has been going through a dry spell. He has been asked to sing at a celebrity wedding in Marietta. He just wants a normal life, but agrees to sing in this wedding with a co-singer from Marietta. Jake hosts a tryout to select a co-singer for this wedding. Magdalena is selected. From the start there is a physical and emotional connection between them. Their romance was really sweet and very passionate. Will Magdalena be able to move on from things in her pasts for a chance at true love? I really enjoyed this story. This story includes a sweet romance, dealing with family dynamics, forgiveness, and undeniable chemistry. The storyline flowed really well and I didn't want to put it down. I received a copy of this book from Tule Publishing for an honest review. FYI, contains mature content.
