Contrast to gold, the government can't create gold like they do with printed money. The value is based on scarcity. There is only a limited supply of gold out there, maintaining its value; while paper dollar bill can always be printed, decreasing its value.

Bitcoin can be viewed as the digital version of gold because there is only a limited amount of it out there, and it's protected from inflation; nobody can come in and make more of it. Plus, the convenience of bitcoin is you don't have to carry it and worry about where you place it or if it gets lost like if it were physical money in your wallet or purse, but you can use it without actually needing anything on you because it's 100% virtual.

I had heard of Bitcoins as a currency before reading this book, and had always been interested in it, but I didn’t realize how much was involved. I didn’t know anything about them, or what you could use them for. That’s part of the reason this book was so interesting. I definitely learned a lot from it, and am really glad I took the time to read it. With this form of currency, there are many pros and cons to it but you’ll have that with anything. It amazed me how beneficial it was, though. If you’ve ever been worried about security when it comes to your money, you won’t have nearly as many issues with Bitcoin. The book also described how it might be more beneficial to some business people than others. For example, online stores or businesses would benefit greatly by this system. As a freelance editor, I found this book about Bitcoins to be much more interesting that I anticipated. It showed me everything I needed to know to make an informed decision about whether this currency system is right for my freelancing business. It also gave a step-by-step process of how anyone reading or wanting to use the Bitcoin system how to start doing so. It was amazingly clear and easy to understand. The author didn’t leave any room for confusion, and that’s the best way to do it. I loved that this part of getting involved was included within the pages. The information about how Bitcoin can help me is great, but almost meaningless if I don’t know how to get involved. I want to give this book a 5 out of 5 so badly, but unfortunately I have to give it a 4 out of 5. It was super informative, easy to read, and clear enough for anyone to understand; however, there were still some spelling and grammatical errors. As a freelance editor, I would LOVE to get my hands on this manuscript and clean up those last minute errors that were missed. Either way, I definitely suggest this book to anyone considering using this system, or just want to learn more about Bitcoin.

My 18-year-old son has been telling me that bitcoins would be a good investment at this point in time. He said right now one bitcoin is “approximately” valued at $700, while a couple months ago they were only around $300, over doubling in value, which sort of makes me wish I started then but hey, I’m here now! I was intrigued by way they seem to quickly be climbing in value but I needed to learn more! I’ve read “Express” books on other topics and they have always been great, so I didn’t even hesitate when I came across Express Bitcoins to aide me in my journey into the bitcoin world. There’s a lot to know, but this knowledge packed, quick read, had me up and running in no time! This book covers everything anyone needing bitcoin knowledge could want or need, and it’s well written and so easy to understand. Even includes easy to follow step by step instructions on exactly where to begin with bitcoins. I’m really happy with this book and now feel quite confident and ready to start earning some money with this cool new currency!

I had never thought of using the Bitcoin as cash until I read this book, I guess that was because I didn't have an understanding or grasp of the concept of what a Bitcoin actually was. In reading this book I found out exactly what the Bitcoins were and how to use them to make money for me. Knowing that Bitcoin is a code and not actual physical money confused me until I read further and understood what the code was for. For those that are looking to make a fast buck without much effort then this isn't going to be for them, this takes work and understanding to do. It like all types of money has its risks. Scams occur even with this type of currency, and if you know what to look for and this book helps some but being smart about any kind of trading and currency dealing is always important no matter what. After reading this book I now know what a Bitcoin is, how to get set up to use it and even ways to use it. I understand more on how to be safe with it as well. I definitely will suggest this book to friends who say: What the heck is a Bitcoin anyway?
