This book highlights the residual strength of the CFDST column, that can be used to determine the most suitable repair method in order to retrofit the column. The book elaborates on the behavior of CFDST column after being exposed to fire. This book also discusses the effectiveness of repair method using single and Hybrid Fibre Reinforced Polymer (FRP) of fire-damaged CFDST columns. It concludes by taking a look at different parameters such as thickness of outer steel tube and fire exposure time as factors affecting thermal properties/stability.

About the author

Prof. Choong Kok Keong graduated with B. Eng (Civil)(Hons) from University of Technology, Malaysia, Master Eng. from Gifu University, Japan and his Doctoral Degree at The University of Tokyo. He is a senior lecturer in the Department of Structural Engineering at University of Science, Malaysia and is currently the Deputy Dean for Research, Innovation and Industry at USM.
Dr. Jayaprakash J obtained his PhD from Universiti Putra Malaysia. His interest of research area is repair and rehabilitation of RC Structure, Strengthening of RC members using basalt and fibre reinforced polymer (FRP) composites.
Dr. Sharifah Salwa Mohd Zuki obtained her doctoral degree from Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM). Currently she is a Lecturer in the Department of Structural and Material Engineering at Faculty of Civil and Environmental Engineering, University Tun Huseein Onn Malaysia (UTHM).


Dr. Shahiron obtained his doctoral degree at Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM). Currently he is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Structural and Material Engineering at Faculty of Civil and Environmental Engineering.

Dr. Nurul Izzati obtained her PhD from Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia. Her research interests are in the area of acoustic performance of coal bottom ash concrete.
