About this ebook

Sixteen-year-old Deirdre Monaghan is a painfully shy but prodigiously gifted musician. She's about to find out she's also a cloverhand—one who can see faeries. Deirdre finds herself infatuated with a mysterious boy who enters her ordinary suburban life, seemingly out of thin air. Trouble is, the enigmatic and gorgeous Luke turns out to be a gallowglass—a soulless faerie assassin. An equally hunky—and equally dangerous—dark faerie soldier named Aodhan is also stalking Deirdre. Sworn enemies, Luke and Aodhan each have a deadly assignment from the Faerie Queen. Namely, kill Deirdre before her music captures the attention of the Fae and threatens the Queen's sovereignty. Caught in the crossfire with Deirdre is James, her wisecracking but loyal best friend. Deirdre had been wishing her life weren't so dull, but getting trapped in the middle of a centuries-old faerie war isn't exactly what she had in mind . . . Lament is a dark faerie fantasy that features authentic Celtic faerie lore, plus cover art and interior illustrations by acclaimed faerie artist Julia Jeffrey. I love this book and I know there is a sequel! If you like this book, you should read the Iron fey series and the Faerie Princess series because they are definitely alike!!! Spoiler: Luke does love Dierdre really and does not kill her. She defeats the summer queen, whose real name is Dierdre O'Brien, and who is actually not the real summer queen. The real summer queen rules the land and Dierdre Monaghan is saved from ruling the people because she knew if she did not rule she would be killed. James, her best friend, does unfortunately fall in love with her. She stays with Luke and the faeries and consider being immortal. Luke had killed a lot of cloverhands before, but he cannot kill Dierdre because he is in love with her and does not care what doom the summer queen has prepared for him. Dierdre has powers of making things do what she wants them to do. You will love Iron King more than this book!!!

This book is one of my favourites. It has beautiful romance while having a presence that will keep you on the edge of your seat. With surprising happenings and events all throughout the book, this is a must read!
