Drew Walker

My life changed the day my daughter was shoved into the back of a van on the orders of a man I considered my brother.Ê

It's never going to be the same again.

I'm never going to be the same again.

But I'm being given another chance to do everything right this time.

And I'll be damned if I screw it up.

In this short we see the real ramifications of Travis's actions on Drew and his family. Drew can't let go of the fact that he failed to protect his family, he's suffocating on the guilt he carries from that day. He doesn't know how to overcome the pain and guilt he feels. These shorts are so beautifully written and give us glimpses into the characters lives we don't always get to experience. I'm so grateful that Ms. Briscoe was thoughtful enough to give us this beautiful gift. I was given an ARC in exchange for my honest opinion of this book. I look forward to reading the next book that Ms. Briscoe writes because I know that it's going to be AMAZING!!!

In this emotional short we get to experience Drew's perspective. This has anguish, healing, love and strength. Drew is struggling in the aftermath of Justice being kidnapped. He is feeling he failed his family. Charity and the girls are his life and he feels like he can't protect them. I absolutely enjoyed the time with Justice in the gym. This does pull at your heartstrings but definitely worth reading. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

This story’s a lot like a Carolina Reaper pepper, it may be tiny but it’s going to leave its mark on you, and you’re not going to be quite the same afterwards. You need to have experienced Fury first to fully understand the impact of this story. Also, each one of these shorts builds on the knowledge from the ones before. This time we witness Drew struggling to come to terms with no longer having the same trust and control over his world anymore. And just like with nearly every other title in this collection, I was a sodden weepy mess before I made it out the other side. At its heart, this is a story about love and healing and the hard work it sometimes takes to make those happen. I received a complimentary advanced copy of this book from the author.
