About this ebook

This book and audio set teaches 101 jazz bass patterns played over chords and chord progressions that are fundamental to the harmonic language of jazz. This is a very useful collection of major, Dorian, and Mixolydian patterns, eight bar patterns, turnaround patterns, and more. Because each pattern is played over a common chord progression, it will be easy to apply these examples in performance. In addition, you'll experience a noticeable improvement in your knowledge of the fingerboard, technical facility, harmonic vocabulary, and the ability to conceive and express modern musical ideas. This book includes a glossary of jazz scales and basic theory for the jazz musician. Ideal for those who currently play blues, country, folk, classical or rock, and desire to venture into jazz. Written in standard notation and tablature. Includes access to online audio.
