Egyptian gods & goddess have been around for thousands of years. Anput & Anubis were married for many years. They ultimately decided to end their marriage but have remained on good terms. Osiris & Iris ask Anput for a favor. To watch over Osiris. This means seeing and being near Anubis after quite some time. She is looking forward to him. The story speaks of 2 people that still have feelings for each other but are guarding their feelings. A good falling in love again read.

Anput and Anubis are my favorite couple in this series by far! This book had me reading it with a huge smile on my face the whole time. The characters were mature, their second-chance romance was believable, and the steamy scene was very hot! The respect these two characters had for each other, even though they had parted many years ago, was so lovely to see. And little tidbits of the overall series story arc about trouble in Duat are making me very interested in what's to come next.

I really loved this story. I think honestly Seti steals the show lol! The title is an excellent descriptor as it’s not exactly a new love, but more than just a rekindling. Anput and Anubis have an unexpected second chance when Anput is called to a duty for the first time in many years. I think this is my favorite of these stories possibly because I’m a huge fan of the Anubis Apprentice series and of course here we have a story about Anubis himself. Either way it’s a sweet with a bit of heat wond
