This book picks up right where First Kiss ended. Emily is finally happy and has decided she wants to have a life with Reeve, even if she doesn't fully trust him. But that happiness doesn't last long as Amber's back and she's alive....barely. Joe, Emily's PI, found her and brought her to Reeve's where Amber was asking go. Now Emily is conflicted between her feeling for Reeve and her feeling for Amber. When it appears that Michelis Vilanakis, Reeve's uncle may the cause of all the problems, Reeve goes into protective mode to secure Emily and Amber, whisking them away to his private island in the Pacific! It was heartbreaking watching Emily fight her feelings for Reeve, knowing that Amber was back and that she'd promised her friend years ago that she would never get in between her and a man. It was also interesting understanding Amber's side of their past histories and getting a better feel for the whole picture. It was a very difficult path for Emily to navigate to get to her happy ending but it was well worth it. I loved how Emily finally came to the realization of certain things in her life. This story ran me through the emotions...happiness, sadness, anger and swooning. Great ending to such an emotional tale. Great job!

I was blown away by this book! What an amazing way to end this fabulous series. This duology is in fact, one of the best I have had the pleasure of reading. The story is beautifuly well-written. I feel the intensity of Laurelin's characters as my own, they were fascinating, thought-provoking and well developed. The pacing of the story is perfect; with an excellent well-built plot and sub-plots. Last Kiss is a raw, visceral experience, one that you need to experience yourself to understand its beauty and its pain. It has romance, love, angst, heartache, suspense, and darkness. Best of all is an intense, erotic, and emotional read that kept me on the edge the whole entire time. The story is so vividly described, that had me crying, laughing, or kept me in suspense or jumping up and down when the ocassion call for it. This duology was just as fabulously heart-wrenching and beautiful as I wished it'd be and more, and I highly recommend it. As our worlds spun with the cliff hanger in First Touch with the return of Amber in the last sentence! We've waited, we've anticipated, we've held our breathe for the conclusion. Emily's universe has been flipped upside down. Her best friend, her beloved Amber is alive! Reeve loved her! As he said the second woman he loved was "The first one's best friend". But now Amber is here and Reeve loved her first... This story takes you on a spiraling chase of heart strings pulling you in every direction of Emily's emotional battle of love, friendship, and loyalty. Most significantly (My favorite) is truly understanding Reeve & the twisted man he's become; feeling, relating, and knowing so much more on his background. The explanations of the many different layers of what makes him who he is. I didn't hate him in this story, as I did in First Touch! I enjoyed the story so much more having the awareness of Reeve. There are continuous pages that you want to scream with frustration or throw your book across the room as the story twists turns & manipulates your emotions. I will warn you, you won't be able to put this book down. The desire & need to have more is compelling. You are sucked into this captivating story. I was conflicted with First Touch, having the darker side from Laurelin Paige was very different, but Last Kiss is like having that special perfect dessert at the end of a delectable dinner. The sweetest kiss at the door from the end of a perfect date. Last Kiss is the delicious touch to a fabulous ending. -read by French Sparkle with Pop Fizz Clink Read
