Consumed by You (Fighting Fire #3) by Lauren Blakely *Part of a series but can be read as standalone* Cara Bailey has wanted Travis to be “the one” since they dated in high school. But they never could seem to make anything stick. Over the years as they would see each other through college and visits back to her hometown, they would have a few hot one night stands but then go their separate ways. Cara could never get him out of her head or her heart. Travis was crystal clear he didn’t do relationships, but he was always up for some hot sex with a beautiful girl and Cara was the one he kept going back to. He wants her, but he stays away when she comes back to town to live for good he knows she deserves better than what he can offer. Then Cara changes the rules and decides she wants to have Travis fulfill all of her sexual fantasies in an attempt to get him out of her system. Travis is game, maybe he can get her out of his system too. But when the fire of their desire for each other continues to burn hot will either of them be able to walk away and not get burned. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ This was a book that was an absolute pleasure to read from the first line-- “The dress she wore was pure torture. " I recently read that a good book should capture the reader’s attention from the first line and this book definitely did just that. The chemistry between Cara and Travis was blazing, fitting since Travis is a fireman. I love it when a couple really works well together. Though they both try to deny their feelings throughout the book it all played well together and kept me glued to the page. The reading flow was just right making for a very well written story. The background characters played an important part in getting Cara and Travis to realize they belonged together. I especially like when his mother pretty much smacks him upside the head when he reveals why he avoids relationships. Leave it to a mom to get a man to open his eyes and see the terrific woman in front of him. The banter and sense of humor that Cara and Travis shared throughout the book was fun and exciting to read. The sex scenes were scorching hot, Travis knows how to keep a girl satisfied why would Cara want anyone else. Gotta love a man that’s good at dirty talk making it sexy and not cheesy. “Does that sweet, sexy way you say my name mean you’re about ready to come on my tongue?” he asked, giving her the dirtiest of dirty looks. Lauren Blakely does an excellent job developing the characters and breathing real life into the story. Cara and Travis were a real and believable couple. I will definitely go back and read the other two books in the series. This is my first read of a Lauren Blakely story but it most definitely will not be my last. *RECEIVED AN ARC FROM NETGALLEY IN EXCHANGE FOR AN HONEST REVIEW*

I loved this book couldn't put it down. Travis & Cara made a pact to have a fling for 2 weeks then go their seperate ways after the fireman's auction. They never expected to have a hard time walking away from each other.
