This is the second book in the ‘Intrigue’ series, and this time we follow drummer Layla who is having a hard time at the moment. I enjoyed this just as much as the first book, and again it was nice getting to know another member of the band. I was expecting her to be so much sassier based on what we’d seen of her in the first book. However, we get to see a much softer and vulnerable side to her due to what she is dealing with. The storyline did feel a little bit like Whitney Houston’s ‘Bodyguard’, and I kept singing the songs in my head as I was reading it. This isn’t a bad thing as it felt like a modern re-boot! I had to keep reminding myself that I wasn’t reading one of my Psychological Thrillers, as I kept trying to guess who the stalker was, and I kept doubting John! I kept telling myself off and reminding myself that this was ultimately a romance novel, so that was unlikely! (I did guess who it was though!) I was gutted to get to the end of it and to know there aren’t any more in the offing just yet. I feel like I am missing my friends; it’s such a strange feeling. I probably wouldn’t have felt like this if I hadn’t have re-read ‘Lance’ just before. So another brilliant book from Rachel Schurig!

Fantastic Read! Layla follows Intrigue on tour. There is a stalker following Layla a little too closely when the record label brings in John to keep tabs on Layla. And boy does that set her off! Layla enjoys her freedom and does NOT want a babysitter but man oh man does she luck out in protector that is chosen just for her! He's a little damaged; a little broken. John is absolutely the man for the job. He puts Layla at ease... calms her mind. He is strong, comforting & on task. Together, they find out just how perfect they can be together. This is a must read! You will not be disappointed!!

I love how with each book we learn a little more about not only the main characters but the supporting cast as well. This is the second book in the series but can be read as a standalone book as well. Layla is not* interested in a babysitter, but you can't deny chemistry!! ;) 5 stars (as always!) for my hands-down favourite author. READ THIS BOOK ! (And all her others) you won't be disappointed.
