Woodruff let his ego get in the way of his intelligence and responsibilities to his young famly. There's no way he should have been where he was when he was injured. He put at peril not only his own life, but his livlihood and family's future. He was pressed to be there in his attempt to climb the ladder to success. Instead he had to climb an even steeper ladder to recovery. Luckily for him he was able to be treated by Military Hospitals and the most experienced professionals for these injuries. A cautionary tale to put your priorities in order and not imperil others, especially family, by making selfish decisions. I read this with interest as I have recovered from a TBI, an accident rollerblading. My injuries were much less severe but I was interested in the recovery he fought to complete. I'm sure there are long lasting sequella from his accident that he'll never recover from. God bless him in his long journey.

Lee Woodruff and Bob Woodruff live in Westchester County, New York, with their four children. Bob Woodruff was named co-anchor of ABC’s World News Tonight in December 2005. On January 29, 2006, while reporting on U.S. and Iraqi security forces, Mr. Woodruff was seriously injured by a roadside bomb that struck his vehicle near Taji, Iraq. Lee Woodruff is a public relations executive and freelance writer.
