About the author

Lemuel W. Watson is currently dean and professor at the University of South Carolina. He was educated at the University of South Carolina, Ball State University, and Indiana University Bloomington. He enjoys being engaged with people from all walks of life and believes that humility is the characteristic that keeps us grounded. He also believes that poetry is a unique way to capture the beauty of life. He enjoys traveling the globe, especially the rural countryside. He has provided workshops and professional development opportunities to individuals and organizations in the United States as well as abroad, and he continues to provide training and professional development throughout the world as consultant and speaker (www.lwatsoncs.com). Although he has written many articles for professional journals and has several academic books, this is his first book of poetry. A second book about childhood memories and people of the South Remembrance (forthcoming) is in the works. His personal motto is “The best is always yet to come.”
