About this ebook

When reclusive war hero, Sam Hinson, is asked to be the best man for his friend Brodie Steven, he heads to the small town of Spirit, Louisiana, only to find out from the bride’s gorgeous older sister that he needs to deliver the “best man” speech at the wedding reception. He doesn’t like to even be in a crowd, let along speak to one.

Still hurting from her ex-husband, Madeline Sonnier Parker is ready for a little temporary romance. She tells Sam she’ll help him write his toast to the bride and groom if he’ll help her aggravate her ex-husband. But Sam’s been used before, and after being around Madeline, he decides he wants more than what she’s willing to give.

Their pact sets off a string of revealing old hurts and new fears as Sam and Madeline come together. But once they begin opening up to each other, they realize that this wedding bargain might just be the start to something more…

Good story, but upset because half of this story I had already read @ the end of the 1st story Southern Cowboy & then to pay over $3.00 for the 2nd & 3rd book each. Not happy about that. I know I didn't have to buy the other two books but I did so, so I could complete the series, not realizing I had already read almost half of the second book in the back of the first book. Half of the third book is @ the ending of Southern Hero.I will not do that again. So so disappointed.

"Driftwood Hero" by Lenora Worth is book two in the "Driftwood Bay" series. This is Madeline Sonnier Parker and Sam Hinson's story. Madeline, "Maddie", is still dealing with the hurt from her divorce. She hasn't told her parents the complete story of her divorce. Madeline didn't realize how hard her sister Michelle's wedding was going to be for her, especially with being the "maid of honor". Sam is dealing with difficult times in his life, but keeps everything inside. He is the "best man" for Brodie, Michelle's finance. Sam doesn't do weddings, but is hoping to make it through without embarrassing himself for his good friend. Sam wants Madeline to help him with the "best man" speech. Madeline asks Sam to help her aggravate her ex-husband. This agreement to help each other brings up fears, insecurities, and old hurts. When Sam and Madeline meet they are immediately drawn to each other. This is a clean romance, but it does not take away from the sensuality between them. The intimate interactions between Sam and Michelle were very sensual, a whisper in the ear, a simple touch of his fingers to her lips. Sam is hot! This is a sweet romance between two people dealing with old hurts and fears who get a second chance at true love. This book can be read as a standalone, but you get a better understanding and connection to all the characters if you've read book one. As in Lenora Worth's book one, "Driftwood Cowboy", the description of the scenery and food made the reader feel like you were there and could smell and taste the food. I also loved the cover of this book. Another great book by Lenora Worth. I look forward to reading additional books by Lenora Worth.

Sam is supposed to be the best man in Brodie’s wedding which he is not looking forward to at all. That is until he meets Madeline, the bride’s sister. She will help him through his best man duties and he can be on his way. That is until he realizes he likes her…a lot. The night prior to the wedding, Evan, Madeline’s ex shows up wanting her back. Sam can’t stand idle, watching her make a big mistake and leaves. Just as Madeline thinks she has found happiness, it slips through her fingers with Evan’s arrival. Can Madeline repair what she and Sam have or will she love him forever? Finally Sam’s story! I was excited to read it and was not disappointed. This is turning out to be a wonderful series and I cannot wait to read Melissa’s story.
