About the author
Lewis Carroll, mit bürgerlichem Namen Charles Lutwidge Dodgson, geboren am 27. Januar 1832 in Daresbury und gestorben am 14. Januar 1898 in Guildford, war ein britischer Schriftsteller des viktorianischen Zeitalters, Fotograf, Mathematiker und Diakon. Er ist Autor berühmter Kinderbücher wie ›Alice im Wunderland‹, ›Alice hinter den Spiegeln‹ und ›The Hunting of the Snark‹. Mit seiner Befähigung für Wortspiel, Logik und Fantasie schaffte er es, weite Leserkreise zu begeistern. Seine Werke, als sogenannte Nonsense-Literatur bezeichnet, sind bis heute populär geblieben.
