a good story and characters but the d.s. relationship seems skewed based on my observation in works by other authors of same genre. I feel that relationship missed the mark and instead seemed weird and sizzle quotient suffered. I will Not read more from this series. Oct. '20 For better representations of this sub-genre try any of the following authors: Cherise Sinclair, Grace Goodwin, Meghan March.
Jennifer Croom
Oh-Em-Gee. I knew it! But really, I had no clue! (clear as mud, right?!?) I mean, I knew that this book was about secrets, but I had no way of knowing how exciting, and unexpected, those secrets were. There really are no words to describe how much I loved this book. The characters were engaging, the plot was inspired, the action non-stop, and the surprises were out of this world! Liam. Oh, Liam! I knew you were hiding something, but even still, you captured my imagination. The more secrets came to light, the more seemed to be hidden deep. Every page seemed to throw something new at me, and I just couldn't stop reading! Not only his past, but the hurts from that past that seemed to come up when I least expected it. And Avery, her tragedy made me want to weep. Her ability to bounce back, and come out on top is inspiring! It seemed that no matter how much life took away, she managed to turn it around and make it into something amazing. Liam and Avery were a well matched pair, each bringing their own strengths and weaknesses to the relationship. Their story was perfect! This is a fast paced, dramatic love story. And that ending! Totally came out of left field, and definitely not something I could have predicted! It could be read as a stand alone, but there is an ongoing story arc that continues from previous books. The series is set up in a way, that each book has its own story, but also builds upon the events from the other stories. The book feels complete, but definitely leaves me wanting that next story!
