I enjoyed this book although it seemed like it was a mix of The Throne of Glass novels and a bit of Rhysand from A court of Thorns & Roses with the references to the night sky. I think reading these S J Maas novels first made it harder to enjoy this book. There were however a lot of original ideas in the plot with ideas brought together from knowledge of folk law and fairy mythology. I love Lexi Ryan as an author and was excited that she tried her hand writing this type of novel. I will always love her writing in romance!
