First of all, let me say I normally don't like cliffhangers, but in this case it was necessary for the storyline to be complete. It's election time in King George County for sheriff Jack Lawson. Two weeks before the election a messy murder occurs for Jack and JJ to solve. Not only that, but a nasty nemesis is running for Jack's office and drops a bomb shell that results in JJ walking out the door. This was the best story from LH in this series in a long time. Worth reading the next book.
