4 stars — Man I love Ms. Kleypas. Her historicals are always just so easy for me to read and fall in love with the characters. I mean, yes, I love some more than others. But this one definitely hit the right buttons for me. I remember being extremely intrigued by Cam Rohan in the Devil in Winter, and I absolutely love that he got his own HEA. He’s such a different historical hero from what I’ve grown used to. I kind of loved that this story didn’t surround titled men, and was only adjacent

Such a great story for Cam and Amelia! I have been a long-time Lisa Kleypas fan and always find her writing to not only be descriptive but also very moving. I found myself laughing out loud, crying and becoming engrossed in the lives of these characters. If you haven't ever read her historical books, which all are entwined, this is a great starter. Definitely sensual, but also very well-written.

addictive-series, historical-romance, historical-research, history-and-culture, happy-ending I loved it in paperback, I loved it while multitasking, and now I still love it while knitting. I remember researching the lore and persecutions of the Rom (even the Nazis) the first time I read it and learned a lot. An excellent romance complete with fantasy, danger, suspense, and a family like no other! Narrator extraordinaire Rosalyn Landor adds to the enjoyment.
