A book that spoke of my heart's desires. Absolutely phenomenal book with raw, gritty edges and such an honest, open telling of women's desires. I loved it and am so glad it was made into a show. If you're reading this, I believe you, Maggie! xx

Lisa Taddeo has written the most amazing book, it's the true story of three American women and it's moving beyond belief. The women, real names withheld for obvious reasons, have all suffered in their lives because of men. Maggie, who chose to confide a problem to her teacher, who then abused her and then dumped her when his wife saw a text. Lena, who wanted to be wanted, but her husband, having fathered two children with her, didn't even want to kiss her. Sloane who became a sex object whose husband liked to watch her have sex with other men and women. This was a hard book to listen to but an important one. So many women who have suffered in so many ways, not because they are 'bad' but because they made the wrong choices innocently. They didn't get the parenting they needed or they were preyed upon by those older and more experienced than themselves. A very important book for women.

About the author
Lisa Taddeo spent eight years and thousands of hours tracking the women whose stories comprise Three Women, moving to the towns they lived in to better understand their lives. She has contributed to New York magazine, Esquire, Elle, Glamour and many other publications. Her short stories have won two Pushcart Prizes. She lives with her husband and daughter in New England.
