First drink. First prank. First friend. First love.

Last words.

Miles Halter is fascinated by famous last words—and tired of his safe life at home. He leaves for boarding school to seek what the dying poet François Rabelais called the “Great Perhaps.” Much awaits Miles at Culver Creek, including Alaska Young, who will pull Miles into her labyrinth and catapult him into the Great Perhaps.

Looking for Alaska brilliantly chronicles the indelible impact one life can have on another. A modern classic, this stunning debut marked #1 bestselling author John Green’s arrival as a groundbreaking new voice in contemporary fiction.

This book was very predictable... spoiler alert I knew before they even figured it out like 50 pages later that Alaska was going to visit her mom's grave the night she died because it was the anniversary of her death. I also hated how "Pudge" thought Alaska loved him and how he had a fantasy that he was the only one she ever loved. Overall I thought the story line was pretty good and it was an okay book but it was predictable...

I did not have high expectations for this book, as I was disappointed in "The Fault In Our Stars". As I began reading, I wondered what the point of this book would be. The climax of this novel was not "run-of-the-mill"/ to be expected. I would recommend this book to anyone who has lost a loved one...especially young adults who have lost a loved one way too early....at a young age. It gives hope and in some ways, an understanding. Definitely worth the read!

I felt like it was very slow. .and usually I can appreciate slow if there's a point. .there was really no point. .I felt like it should have been longer. .the beginning of the book was drawn out and the second part was too rushed and abrupt. .none of the characters are particularly likable..and the characters are everything that they all make fun of. .I could go on
