Rescue My Heart is a well-written book about human trafficking. The subject is dealt with realistically, but sensitively, absolutely nothing graphic. There is a lot of action though. There's never a part that I wanted to just skim through. The second chance at a romance between Al (her nickname) and Grant definitely had me rooting for these characters. I didn't like the fact that there was a divorce (not between our two MCs) for non-Biblical reasons and none of the Christian characters had any qualms about getting married, not even the minister. This story is wrapped up well with a little intro to the next book in the series that I really want to read. Lorana Hoopes has done a fantastic job writing the Men of Fire Beach series. I would recommend this book to readers of clean romantic suspense, Christian romantic suspense, and to those interested in learning about and combating human trafficking. I received a complimentary copy and have written my opinion of this exciting book.

This book was intense with human trafficking and kidnappings. Al has to team up with her ex Grant in a race to find and rescue her headstrong sister and the other women with her. Nicole's heart is in the right place trying to help all those girls and women, but she doesn't consider her own safety in her mission to save them. We got to see it from the inside point of view how so many are tricked into helping the kidnappers. It's scary how one's life could change in an instant by making a bad decision or being in the wrong place. Grant kind of has a double standard, worried about a wife working a dangerous job like his but after hearing about his past I could see why. I didn't like the political bent at the beginning of the book. I read to escape and felt like it was a dig against liberals.

An excellent read! Although Al and Grant were former sweethearts, they team up to find Al's sister who has vanished. They go all the way to Panama where they can only surmise that she has been taken by people intent on human trafficking. I found this story compelling and intense but so timely. It was tastefully done but yet showed you the dangers that women finds themselves in, mostly through no fault of their own and how scary things can get, fast! I really liked the characters and trying to figure out how everything was going to turn out! It was a definite page-turner! Al was able to find out things about Grant she didn't know the first time around and work them out so they could try again which is always a genre I enjoy!!!

About the author

Lorana Hoopes is the USA Today best-selling author of over forty books and counting. She's originally from Texas which shows as most of her books are set in the great state. As the saying goes, "You can take the girl out of Texas, but you can't take Texas out of the girl."

Lorana began writing at an early age, but it wasn't until a few years ago that she began publishing. Now, it seems she can't get the stories out fast enough. In addition to writing, she also records and produces her own audiobooks as well as audiobooks for other clean authors. Her background in theater and as a radio DJ certainly help in that area.
