Since the death of her sister two years ago, Quinn Weller has been sleepwalking through life; she is ensconced in her routine, she is not living anymore. One day, while waiting in line for her usual coffee, a lawyer comes up to her and announces that she has inherited properties, among other things. She will have to leave LA for the small ranch town of Wildstone, California, to see to it. If that was a shock for Quinn, it was nothing compared to all the secrets that were kept from her all her life. Mick Hennessey is also in Wildstone for a little while, and he is the one who finds Quinn as she is driving into town in full panic attack. LOST AND FOUND SISTERS is Jill Shalvis’ first foray into women’s fiction, and I must admit that I haven’t read many books in that genre. And this is a book that is hard to review without giving away any spoilers, of which there are many. Fans of Ms. Shalvis need not worry too much as the author’s effortless writing, biting wit, a slightly accident-prone heroine, and bugs are components of the story, as well as a yummy hero and a sweet old dog and a quirky stray cat. On the other hand, while it did not matter to me in the least, the hotness side has been toned down to PG, as there are no particularly explicit sex scenes, which greatly surprised me. While the focus is, of course on Quinn’s and Mick’s romance, there is more emphasis on secondary characters, more depth to the story, and more conflicts, that are quite a departure from what is usually found in Ms. Shalvis’ book, there is also a certain sadness that defines Quinn, that the author conveys exceptionally well. I was a bit taken aback, as I’m used to the light, fun, and bubbly tone of Ms. Shalvis’ books, and while this is a very good, solid story, I missed the carefree and playful atmosphere that I find in Jill Shalvis’ stories. The romance was very convincing, as it was definitely based on more than physical attraction, and Mick was a lovely hero. LOST AND FOUND SISTERS is the first book in the new Wildstone series, and while usually it’s obvious whose book is to be expected next, I must admit that I am really not sure what to expect next; Lena with or without Boomer perhaps? I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book.

If there was one book that needs to be read, I would say it's Lost and Found Sisters by Jill Shalvis. Ms. Shalvis has a way of getting under the skin and setting up residence within the tight confines of the heart. Quinn's quest of self - discovery is littered with loss, grief, secrets and answers to questions she never thought to ask. Lost and Found Sisters is not just a novel about the bond between sisters. It is the road map of a courageous woman looking to find her way home. An eye - opening, uplifting experience.

What a great start to the new Wildstone series! Chef Quinn Weller had her world turned upside down when she lost her best friend and sister in a tragic accident two years ago. She has lost the will to feel anything for anyone. Now another surprise is dropped on her and she doesn't know how to process the betrayal she feels. She travels to Wildstone to uncover more about this new shocking revelation. What she will discover is a strength she didn't know she had when she meets those that challenge her and make her start to feel again. Ms Shalvis is an expert at creating intriguing and quirky characters that you will fall in love with, funny and heartfelt story lines, witty banter, and steamy passion. This story has an added deeper emotional feel to it that embraced me and was totally engaging. I was fascinated by Quinn's growth along with her developing connection to family and friends. Quinn's family, family pets and the Wildstone residents are all distinctive, charming and even quirky, making the perfect springboard to more fun and provocative stories. This is a fast paced, heartwarming, sweet and sexy romance that captivated me from start to finish and I can't wait to read more from Wildstone!
