Nicole's Book Musings
You can't go wrong with a book by Avery Flynn. I love her hockey romances and I couldn't wait to dive into this one. I really liked Shelby. Man, can you say bad luck. I felt for Ian because his life has just turned upside down. He definitely struggles through in this book. If he can't find he was through it he may just may let the best thing slip through his fingers. You can feel the sexual tension between Shelby and Ian. Being stuck in a blizzard together in a small cabin leads to many sparks. This book gave me the humor and heart I expect in a rom com by Avery Flynn. This is a book that will get you out of a reading funk. You'll have a hard time putting this one down.

I LOVED, LOVED, LOVED this wonderful, snarky, and funny book, Loud Mouth by Avery, book three in her Ice Knights series. This story, in typical Avery style, had me on an emotional journey as we followed Shelby and Ian’s enemies to friends love story as they haphazardly slide across the ice, scoring yet another goal. Needing to find an outlet and direction for her life, Shelby started writing a hockey blog, The Biscuit. A few years later she lands a position with the Ice Knights, expanding her blog. A phone call from her mother, featuring some juicy hockey gossip, is overheard by a local news reporter. Not having any scruples this reporter lets the city know that Ice Knights’ hockey star Ian Petrov’s best friend and teammate is actually his half brother. Surprise!! Shelby is embarrassed that the news was made public before Ian was informed of this bit information; since he had no prior clue. Instead of being mad with his dad or former best friend/brother from another mother, he’s angry with me; the poor messenger. In an attempt to get away, Shelby hides away in a remote cabin only to discover Ian had the same idea and arrives at the same cabin in the middle of the night. Of all the luck in the world, these two awaken after a massive blizzard trapping them in the cabin. The sizzling attraction and chemistry are causing a major tension between them that only kisses, caresses, and a bed can release. Ian has turned into a snarly grump and Shelby is imagining all the things she wants Ian to do and how amazing it would be. After escaping from the cabin, Shelby is assigned to cover the brothers during a road trip. These enemies are fast becoming friends, and possibly more as they spend time together, getting to truly know and understand each other. When things get complicated, Shelby is there, standing up for and protecting Ian. Now Ian has to figure out how to keep Shelby alongside him, and in his life, possibly forever. Ms. Flynn wrote a wonderful and hysterical story that was moving and filled with sizzling chemistry, humorous and snarky dialogue, and endearing characters that should definitely not be missed. I highly recommend Loud Mouth to other readers.
