About this ebook

Mei Lin Yu should have been looking forward to the next stage in her life. As a descendant of one of the Founding Families who led the exodus from a dying Earth and now rule New Eden, Mei's choices are endless. But she has never felt part of the Yu Family or the world of technological marvels and genetic perfection the Founders created.

All that will change the summer she spends at Mynyddamore, the home her ancestor Mabel Yu built in western Caelestis. Here, living among the Ddaerans, the original inhabitants of New Eden, Mei will discover secrets about Mabel Yu that her family want to keep buried and a truth about herself that will forever change her own destiny.

Between Mountain and Sea is a coming of age novel, the first book in USA Today bestselling author Louisa Locke’s Caelestis series in the Paradisi Chronicles (an open source, science fiction world created by multiple authors).

Really enjoyed this tale that blends science fiction, history and sociology. Characters are likeable, except when they are the villains. I'm looking forward to reading the other books in the series.

I am a 67 year old man. I couldn't hardly put this book down and when I had to I couldn't wait to get back to it. I read the ebook (in about 24 hours flat). I'm going to order the whole set of physical books so I can continue this series and reread it whenever I want and share it. I was impressed that there was no written curse words although the author mention a couple times that people cursed she never felt the need to write the words themselves down. There was also no sex (which many books and movies feels obliged to include). I appreciate that as well. It takes skill and fortitude to do that in today's social environment. Also, I really enjoyed the word pictures that the author painted and the science fiction of this book. I definately recommend it. It's a good read.

Paradisi is a world I look forward to exploring further, along with Mei Lin Yu. A well-wrought tale set in a complex, social system.
