classic tale, well told A new book by Louise Allen is a treat to be savoured but I inhaled it all in one afternoon. The characters sparkle with wit and empathy and yet remain clear and not overdrawn. The action races along with the reader in the front row loving every minute of the unfolding story. The author's understanding of the Regency period, society and it's neuances provides fine clothing to the whole drama. For me it's a keeper! enough said.
