________

My name is Amber Fraser. I've just moved in at Number 40, Lime Park Road. You'll think of me as a loving wife, a thoughtful neighbour and a trusted friend.

But this is a lie.

When Christy and Joe Davenport are handed the keys to Number 40 on picture-perfect Lime Park Road, it should be a dream come true.

But it's strange that the house was on the market for such a low price.

And that the previous owners, the Frasers, had renovated the entire property yet moved out within a year.

And that none of the neighbours will talk to Christy.

As her curiosity begins to give way to obsession, Christy finds herself drawn deeper into the mystery of the house's previous occupants - and the dark and shocking secret that tore the street apart . . .

I enjoyed this book so much and I'm so sad it's finished. If you like Rear Window type stories you will love this. It switches between the perspective of two women during different time periods. Christy just bought a house that used to belong to Amber. Christy gets obsessed with figuring out what's going on in the street and why Amber and her husband moved. I especially love the parts told by Amber. She moved in with her husband and immediately embarked on an affair with Rob, the hot mysterious man next door. The mystery throughout the book is what happened when this affair ended. And it is obvious it was something very bad. Is Amber even still alive? I also loved the book Our House by this author. It could almost be set in the same street.

I read this on a recommendation. It wasn't bad, quite an easy read. However the end was telegraphed a mile off, and quite unsatisfactory when it did finally arrive.
