About this eBook

After the War Between the States, a Confederate officer longs to heal the heart of a beautiful woman—but first he’ll have to right the wrongs that were done to her.

Major Ethan Kelly has never been able to absolve himself of the guilt he feels for raiding a woman’s home shortly before he was taken prisoner during the Civil War. He is struggling to get through each day until he once again crosses paths with Lizbeth Barclay—the very woman he is trying to forget.

Life after the war is not much different for former Captain Devin Monroe until he meets Julianne VanFleet. He knows she is the woman he’s been waiting for, but he struggles to come to terms with the sacrifices she made to survive the war.

When Ethan and Devin discover that their former colonel, Adam Bushnell, is responsible for both Lizbeth’s and Julianne’s pain, they call on their former fellow soldiers to hunt him down. As the men band together to earn the trust of the women they love, Lizbeth and Julianne seek the justice they deserve in a country longing to heal.

I couldn't wait for this book to come out. Love Held Captive is the third book in the Lone Star Heroes Love Story series. I have read the first two, and was dying to see who's heart was captured next. This series follows a group of soldiers who became more like brothers. They are always there for each other no matter what. When they find out that one man is responsible for deeply hurting two different women, they call on the men they would trust with their lives to help solve the threat. Will they be able to track him down? Or will he cause even more damage before they can? When Ethan runs into someone from his past he feels he must do everything in his power to help her. Coming from a well off family doesn't hurt matters, and the woman is in a desperate situation. Evan has money, but is that what she needs? Devin and Ethan have been there for each other for some of the worst times in their lives. When Devin learns some things about a woman's past, he knows he can trust Ethan to help right the wrong. The question is, how can they take care of the situation and earn the trust of the women they have grown to care for? I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys Historical Fiction. It was fun revisiting a time to where our country was still trying to get along after the war. Lines were drawn, and sometimes those lines separate those who once fought on the same side. It was interesting having two love stories in one, and I didn't feel that it was rushed at all. I was given a copy of this book by the publisher and was in no way forced to post a positive review. All opinions expressed are my own.
