As Ajay learns to navigate New York’s dating-app culture he experiences a series of tumultuous relationships and endures emotional and psychological fallout. Love Lamentations uses a non-linear structure, weaving together various episodes to illustrate how happenstance and personal failure color one’s conception of the universe. Ajay’s journey is one of introspection and self-discovery, as he gradually learns to accept and then embrace his destiny. The novel explores themes of identity, cultural dislocation, and alienation.
About the author
Rajeev Bector earned his graduate degree in English from the City University of New York. He is the recipient of the Sandra Schor Award in Writing and has been published in A Writer’s Resource by Maimon and Peritz.
