Scarlet four o’clock, terminal sedation, night blooming cereus, respiratory depression, sacred datura, persistent vegetative state, love-lies-bleeding, life long devotion: the names of desert flowers and the language of death are equally potent and mysterious in this haunting and urgent play.

Don DeLillo is the author of numerous novels and plays including Love-Lies-Bleeding. He has won the National Book Award, the PEN/Faulkner Award for Fiction and the Jerusalem Prize, along with many other awards and honours. He is a member of the American Academy of Arts and Letters and the recipient of the Academy’s William Dean Howells Medal for Underworld.
