About this eBook

Prickly Patrick Manning always manages to get under Madison Porter’s skin. The big-city expat and new coffee shop owner in quaint Honey Springs hasn’t even bothered to try to fit in (he won’t even properly name his shop with a bee-inspired moniker, per local tradition). Worse, his coffee shop space should have been Madison’s. She’d always dreamed of taking over the town’s ice cream parlor and bringing it back to its former glory, until Patrick swooped in.

But when the town discovers Madison actually made the highest bid for the store, the competition is on! She’ll set up a pop-up shop in his cafe to see which is more popular: ice cream or coffee. All’s fair in love and war, but what happens when their hearts unexpectedly start to melt for each other?

One Purrfect Summer by Robyn Neeley, book two in her Purrfect Pairs series, was an enjoyable, sweet, heartwarming tale of small town life. Madison Porter loves living in Honey Springs, but her days of working for the mayor’s office and taking care of the town’s matchmaking cat has her feeling like she’s in a rut. When the owner of the ice cream shop decided to retire, she had hopes of owning it and running it herself, but the time wasn’t right. Patrick Manning moved to the small town of Honey Springs for a fresh start, after life knocked him down. Outbidding the competition for a store front, Patrick opened The Bean & Brew; refusing to use a bee-inspired name as is town tradition. He has his reasons, which has never shared within the town. While helping clean out the mayor’s office, Madison discovers paperwork that proves she actually won the bid and should be the rightful owner of the former ice cream shop. There is no way Patrick will forfeit his claim and rebuild his life once again, after he’s worked so hard to become happy. When the town magistrate suggests a competition to see which business should prevail, their competitiveness is ready to bring it on. After all, the winner will earn the space. Soon, Madison and Patrick are working together, finding out so much more about each other; even as they amp up the competition. Being together brings out the magnetism, pulling them together, as well as the attraction as their hearts are soon at stake. Or maybe it’s all being manipulated by Belle, the matchmaking cat, doing her job. After all, all’s fair in love and war; make that, coffee wars. Ms. Neeley wrote a heartwarming tale filled with two lonely people, strong magnetism, competiveness, wonderful dialogue, and endearing characters, especially a matchmaking cat, giving Madison and Patrick a chance at forever love. I highly recommend One Purrfect Summer to other readers. I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.

Robin Neeley’s second book in the Purrfect Pair series, One Purrfect Summer, brings back the zany town of Honey Springs with all its lovable and quirky characters including, and most importantly, the matching making gifted kitty Belle and her four kittens, Hope, Faith, Blue, and Tux. This time out competition is fierce between Bean & Brew coffee shop owner Patrick and the ever dismissed Madison. With her never ending vendetta against Patrick for stealing (in her mind) the Honey Cone ice cream shop from underneath her, Madison comes up with what she thinks is a sure fire way to get back what was rightfully (again in her mind) hers. As with with the story before it, One Purrfect Summer is a delightfully entertaining read...it again left me remorseful about leaving Honey Springs when the story ended. This ARC book was complimentary, provided by the Publisher. I am voluntarily providing my honest review.

Belle the matchmaking cat is at it again in Honey Springs. This time she has set her eyes on Patrick Manning at the Bean and Brew and Madison the one person in the entire town who simply doesn't fall at his feet. I mean come on they both wanted the space HE is now serving coffee and not even a bit of honey inside his business at all. What's up with that? IN Honey Springs? Everyone knows Madison wanted to keep Honey Cone ice cream there and here an out of owner comes in and starts selling Coffee. And a nice looking one at that. Oh never mind that. Things to come to light that shows that Madison actually should have been the highest bid on the building when it was being sold but for some reason, beyond her Etta decided to sell it to Patrick instead. But keeping all the recipes for the ice cream and also the winning bid so Madison would find it at a later date. Intretering. Now Madison and Patrick are both co-chairs for the local Honey Festival while they are also working to see who will actually get to own the building that the Bean and Brew are in. A bit of friendly competition never hurt anyone and might even make frenemies of the two of them. All the while Belle and her three kittens are hanging around especially Belle. So no doubt there is a love match in the air. If only these two will let loose and give in. This book is so much fun and I really loved the ice cream flavors too. Can't wait to see who Belle matches next and see if her kittens are matchmakers as well.
