Interesting theme with strong characters however it becomes a little waffly (sp?) in the middle and Jess annoyed me considerably in parts. Also the `big` secret re her issue with the police is weakened by her apparent feelings about Silver. One other highly aggravating thing; Silver using `kiddo` ALL THE TIME to Jess, it just sounded sooo naff. I hated that. I didn't like Jess but I liked the family dynamic and some other key characters. It's a worthwhile read for 99p but no more!!
